About Us
City of Buffalo

We are a Women-owned business, owned and managed by Mary Beth and Bill Brown. We provide full-spectrum HVAC services ranging from narrow sub-contracts to complete design-build installations. We also provide residential and maintenance services including preventative maintenance contracts and 24/7 emergency service.

The Brown Family has a long history in the HVAC industry. Starting with their great-grandfather Robert, followed by their grandfather William, and their dad Gerald, Bill and Mary Beth Brown represent the family's fourth generation to enter this trade.

Bill is a 1985 graduate of Alfred State College and began working in the HVAC field upon graduation. Over the years Bill gained first hand experience as an installer, estimator, design/build project manager and salesperson. In 1996 Bill left a large Mechanical Contractor and started his own business.

Prior to joining Innovative Mechanical, Mary Beth was Assistant Controller for a $50 million multinational manufacturing firm. Her 20+ years in finance enables her to understand costs from the client's perspective. She is a graduate of Buffalo State College.

In 2003, Jason Helwig joined the company as a Mechanical Engineer, soon after graduating form the University of Buffalo. Jason heads our Estimating Department and plays a key role at Innovative.

As one of the only Women-Owned HVAC and mechanical contractors in Metro Buffalo, Innovative Mechanical Systems has built a sound reputation in both private and public sector construction.
